Bandwidth and bandits
Legal movies via the net will have to wait until REAL broadband
is available to most home. The pitiful 1.5 - 5 MB offerings from
ISPs today just doesn't cut it, especially when you consider how,
IMO, unreliable it is. (Cable modem speed in my area drops big
time every time the college students return in the fall)

It seems the studios regard control only second to money so
they won't abandon their outmoded business model until it is
pried from their hands by film makers going direct to the
consumer.

Steve Jobs has said he has no interest in video, so that's the end
of that - until he changes his mind. happy

So, with the increasing crackdown on illegal movie trading on
the Internet, it appears that those people wanting content will
have to be satisfied with illegal movie trading via encrypted
private servers and "sneaker net" (i.e. ripping movies borrowed
from friends and co-workers)
