What this article fails to mention is the BILLIONS that the Chineese military has spent on researching nanotech since at least the late 80's.

Nanotech has many potential uses that are both good and bad. Unfortunately, the first country to unlock the "bad" uses will have a strategic advantage over the rest of the world.

Think of it like this, "What if the Germans had developed nukes first?" China is thinking the same thing, which is why nanotech has been a priority to them for a very long time. China is pouring money into nanotech like the US did for the Manhattan project, because they realize the stakes are that high.

Western countries underestimate the potential of nanotech weapons which is a huge blunder.
