Well, in my area it's not that bad...
Three years ago I was ready to toss Cox Cable out on it's ear. In fact, I did, and went to Satellite.

But with the advent of HDTV, Satellite ain't where it's at any more. The programming is too limited, and who the hell is going to spend $1000 for an HDTV DVR Tivo (not me!).

I went back to Cox, get decent HDTV service, and the DVR Box that records HD is $9 a month. The SA8300HD's are buggy as hell, and I think they were programmed by monkeys, but it does work (mostly) and it gets the job done (most of the time).

And no one else in my area can provide me with 15mbit down/2mbit up Internet Access for the price.

Today is different from 3 years ago.

But, I'll drop them like a hot processor if they jack up prices, or service falls.
