reply to "The future of Apple Computers": My god, what dreamland are you living in? I work with macs every day. Superior business machine? OSX is nothing but glitter and candy. OS9 was much more streamlined and uncluttered with crap. If anything, Apple has taken a step backward.
A decade ahead of everyone else? Hrrmm.. maybe the case that it comes in.. thats about it. Everything else in a Mac box becomes more like a PC with every new model.
I love how you people fall for all of Apple's propaganda. Every time they come out with a new machine, they claim it is the fastest machine on earth. Then the head to head comparisons come out and the PC always wins. The latest dual proc PC blows away the latest G5, but I am sure you are too brainwashed to believe what you see in hard print.
Heartaches?? My Windows XP machine at home has run as long as 2 months without a reboot. I leave it run 24 / 7 and the whole family uses it. So, it is certainly susceptible to problems, with my 6 yr old son messing around with it unsupervised. I just reboot it every now and then only because it seems like I should. Crashes and freezes are a thing of the past. However, with the new dual processor macs I use at work, I frequently have to force quit applications and I still get plenty of errors. Plus there are still an awful lot of apps that only run in OS 9, so we have to run dual OS. Where is the software???
You MAC zealots need to wake up. I see NO advantages to using a MAC. If anything, Apple is falling behind even more. Its a good thing they have the ipod. Or they might just sink altogether.
