What was once an innovated new design that pushed the computer industry ahead by a decade died in the late 1980s when Apple stopped innovating. Now, they're running a 3rd Party operating system after they failed in producing Pink, Copland, and Gershwin.

The Mac has gone from being the absolute leading edge whose only competitors were obscure Xerox systems that cost 15x as much to a boutique, generic computer whose only claims to innovation are pretty cases and an OS that's now steals UI ideas from industry leader and costs at least as much as its competitors.

Really one of the tragedies of the personal computer era.
