"The temperature issue can also cause fertility problems in men who place the machines on their laps for prolonged periods."

geez, for crying out loud, if you're placing it on your you-know-what, you're probably in a pretty cramped position anyways - place it further out, or on a table . . .

"Without the aid of peripherals, laptop users have two choices, neither of which would win them any points for posture. They can cramp their neck down to view the monitor or they can elevate the machine to eye level, which can wreak havoc on shoulders and arms."

OR: Move it up and out. If you don't have enough room to place the laptop at a comfortable distance and position, move somewhere with more room or wait for a better time.

Personally, I'd have a separate laptop and desktop anyways - seriously, if your desktop needs an upgrade, upgrade it! Upgrading a desktop is a lot cheaper than buying a laptop anyways!

I personally consider a laptop to be a separate purchase, not a replacement purchase. The primary computer, IMHO, should be a desktop with a nice, big, egronomic keyboard.
