doctormoriarty, from what you have said... the terrorists have won!
The only (well published) terrorists acts on US soil were the World Trade Center towers (the first only damaged the parking under the building, 6 floors, the second collapsed the twin towers), the Pentagon building, Oaklahoma City (Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, 1995). Attacks by terrorists outside the US included the Cole (October 12, 2000) and the US Marine Barracks in Lebanon (1983). Terrorism involves the death of people, generally to make a statement by a small group (Al Quada, PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization), IRA (Irish Republican Army), etc.)

Back in the early '90's an ex-SEAL (USN) recommended a book to an associate of mine (now out of print) called Improvised Explosives, Paladin Press (http://www.paladin-press.com/), the book is no longer available. I am sure you will want to rail against a liberal group like: http://www.seal.navy.mil/. Explosives can be made from just about anything found in a grocery store, drug store or hardware store. It is not that hard to improvise a claymore (directional fragmentation mine) or fabricate an explosive (see list at: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/explosives-compositions.htm).

The connection between bootleg films and audio tracks just isn't proven. There is little money to be made by putting tracks (music) or current release movies (Star Wars Episode 3, for example) does not make any money for anyone. If you have the means to stamp out a few thousand copies of a disk, you might be able to make some money (a CD blank costs under a dollar, a DVD may cost a little more) but then you have costs to cover (electricity, time) that will eat into your financial reward.

The article is just an ilustration of ho some terrorsts have already won, though. If it get's you to panic and react as you have, the terrorists have achieved their goal: fear. So far, since September 11, 2001, some people have been kept scared by things like the terror levels (what color isa it today?) and news reports of who they causght and who is still at large. This just illustartes ho terrorism works, keep people scared and they will react in a predictable manner. You illustrate this point quite nicely!
