My favorite Mac Issue
has been discussed in these forums, but I'll say it again.

Jersey Girl's computer wouldn't work ( a Mac G3). Tried to turn it on, nothing. Now, I'm a PC developer guy and couldn't do much with it. I thought, 'Power Supply', or Hard Drive Failure, or Monitor issue. Problem was, it was a "trendy" all-in-one, meaning that it was impossible to swap things out to check it.

So, I take it to the only Mac repair place I could find in Northern Delaware. A little place on Naaman's road, if you know it. They look at it, charge us close to a hundred bucks to repair it (don't remember the $$$), but you know what it was? THE LITHIUM BATTERY!!! The battery died, and IT WOULDN'T TURN ON!!!! A battery worth a couple bucks stopped the computer from turning on!

Sorry, this just makes no sense to me. I know some people on these boards tried to explain it, but I don't ever recalling this causing a PC to fail, at least for me. I'm not a hardware guy, but it seems to me that if the lithium battery dies, it should just prevent the system clock from keeping the right time. Dunno..

Anyone else want to say how ignorant I am and how I should be thankful to pay 100 bucks to replace a Lithium battery? Sounds like I have the iPod special years early...
