I must be 'mis-using' them as I don't have any problems and rate MSDN and as the place to go for Windows development.

You are using a browser?

I did, up until the time I convinced the powers that be that I needed the DVDs.

But I cannot tell you the number of times I ran across an error, be it in an IDE or a browser or an Office suite, went to their site, typed in the exact error message in their support sites search engines and got no matching results.

And then I'd check the net for others with the same problem, and 9 times out of 10 I'd find the answer to the problem... at a non-MS website.

And more often than not there'd be a link to a MS website that had the problem word for word AND the solution. So why didn't it show up in the support search in the first place???
