Ok, so I installed the beta version of Visual Studio. Try to open an existing VB app and am FORCED (there is no other option) to let visual studios "convert" it to .net. Of course *some* code won't convert so it generates exception errors for me to look at and change.

Hmmm, 412 lines of code, 392 exception errors. Oh yeah, this is going to be fun. NOT!!!

Alrighty then, let's look at what must be installed on the users machine for run time. Ah, just another 20 or 30 megs of bloat needed to do the same thing I can already do. So how many people have installed the framework? Hmmm, just under 9% of all PCs.

Oh yeah, such a deal. Throw out my existing code base, re-write all the apps so I can do what I can already do, and then target the 9% of users that even have dot net. Uh huh, you can bet I'm gonna get on that, real soon....
