I have seen a lot of focus on interoperability in this talkback. I don't think the article was only about interoperability. The main focus is to say that a service development methodology should be driven by a department-wide or enterprise-wide contract (XML Schema, WSDL) not by local language/platforms or models. The benefits of this approach, which Brixlogic tools support, is to enforce a general methodology throughout the company that increases interoperability, robustness, smoother learning curve of service interfaces, and overall service resuability, which maybe where the highest value of web services is going to be.
