SOA is real
I am sorry guys, it is easy to bash something when we do not understand it. I just had to respond to this bashfest. SOA is real but it appears that a lot of education still has to take place. If you believe that Object Orientation is real (i.e. you program in Java, C# or C++, ... you are OO enabled) then you shouldn't have any doubt about SOA. Service Orientation (SO) simply builds on Object Orientation. SOA of course is architecting with SO. I admit that the industry has done a poor job of explaining what SOA is, and that we are far from realizing the benefits of SOA, but that doesn't make it unreal. It is also because of comments posted here that i believe that we will not realize the benefits just yet. I will be more than glad to take anyone who doubts it through a presentation to explain SOA.
