UNIX and Linux apps.
Sun Solaris already has a good sized portfolio of applications that are written by customers and application software vendors. With the software capable of running Linux binaries and the future prospect of many more open source applications, Sun feels they have both the applications, the existing customers, and the potential to grow what they already have. Not sure if they can make money doing this, but if they can continue to sell their hardware and a decent portfolio of add on software and services, they may do just fine.
