Sun has a pre-SCO perpetual license for UNIX and thus can do this with impunity. Solaris has a much better kernel than Linux does (right now), and it should be seriously considered for server operations - HOWEVER I don't see too many 64 processor x86 boxes out there - IBM only sells an 8-way - so that kernel advantage is wasted on todays hardware . . .

When IBM charges $15,000 for a Websphere license, I can see a FREE Sun equivilent would gain some traction. Maybe its time to buy some Sun stock . . .
