You are so right.................
You have the source code, I have the source code, everyone has the source code including any and all people whom choose not to like what has happened to open source. Therefore, since the code is readily available, finding and breaching/sxploiting holes becomes much easier and patching much more difficult since the patch code is also immeadiately available............it's the dilema even Linus himself has forseen..............
