No, it's not really very impressive.
MSFT just spent seven years, and four billion dollars to produce what is looking like it should be called Vista ME.

I would be impressed if the numbers where 40 mil copies at full retail box prices. And word of mouth seems to suggest that many preinstalled copies of Vista are being uninstalled and the license holders are waiting for at least SP1 before trying again.

So all numbers are not equal. And when a company like MSFT has to spin it's numbers to put a good face on things, you know that the product has problems.
