Yeah Windows has so many advantages?
Desktop applications like Outlook, applications like the buggy web stuff my company insists on using that does not conform to the W3W standard. Ease of use is a big one. It's so easy to use virus ladened, rootkit infected systems. I only need three third party products to ensure I don't get virus, adware and Miscrosoft doesn't install unwanted software on my computer.
Windows is so stable that once a month I get to upload bug fixes and security patches. My release is so stable I only have to reboot every week now instead of every day,a great improvement over 15 years ago.
MS seems about to take care of the lack of multiple system varients in their next version. How many Vista versions will there be again? Five, Six?
I guess Microsoft's respect for patents and IP law is embodied in all of those lawsuits they are the plantiffs of. The EU and the pre-republican Justice department seemed to have problems with them too.
And everyone knows users would rather try to deal with the undocumented Windows registry than have to decypher well documented init files.
Grow up. Windows is a barely usable OS which has gained wide penetration because Microsoft is a better marketer than they are a software company. You can only sell cows ears as silk purses for so long, no matter how good a salesman you are. This is evident by the gians made by open source software in the last few years and the problems MS is experiencing outside the U.S., where they have less governmental clout and people are less likely to put up with silly U.S. IP laws.
