Another reason why I refuse Vi$ta.

Eh... It's your funeral. Vista's version of IE 7 is probably better at protecting you than previous versions - that's because IE 7 under Vista puts the browser in it's own sandbox, shielded from the rest of the system. Makes driveby and other installs of malware a LOT more difficult. Is it perfect..? NO. NO OS is ever going to be 100% exploit free.

So... Go ahead and delve into whatever alternative you want - doesn't make things any more or less safer necessarily.
