Mr. Swift is right.
Microsoft's web office is coming along nicely and will complement office 2007. Btw, have you looked at Office 2007? I don't care if you are most hard core linux/apple/anything NOT microsoft zealot, it is fantastic. The basic version w/ Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint is very inexpensive. And I believe you can still buy it. I love to own my software, as does still most companies and I believe you can still buy Office and own it. There is something about leasing or paying ongoing service fees for service that leads me to believe, in many cases, you end up paying more anyway and have no control over the software. Office 2000/2003/2007 are all extremely versatile and programmable. 2003 and 2007 esp. so and the tools in VS2003 and VS2005 allow you to create your GUI using Office apps with a SQL backend for instance. Along with that are many foundation classes and other technologies that give you the power to build robust BI apps for the cost of Office and visual studio. I truely don't think you can do that with Google and it's a trend that is exploding.
