Are you also suggesting that PDA's will be used to produce substantial documents?

I expect that small devices will not replace laptops or desktops for office suite uses.


Also, the same information about sales / use could lead to the conclusion that the Office alternatives have "failed to gain traction" or "are chipping away" at Microsoft Office's predominance. Both mean not much has been gained yet.

WordPerfect almost gave away its Works equivalent (which was a useful set of basic office functions) to OEMs in order to bring the company's products to the attention of potential customers.
The failure of this effort shows a stubborn loyalty to Office that competitors will have a difficult time overcoming.

I think that's good reason to expect that the market for other products will not soon be advancing substantially. Even without the advantages to be gained by what appears a significant Office upgrade.
