The start of a new generation of programmers
"The wild" just happen to be those who think software is released with a bunch of bugs that companies individually have to fix and offer again for sale.

When Sun releases Java as open source, we will see a move towards using Java as a common platform-independent language to code in. People will enhance it to make it more efficient.

Our new programmers learning Java in schools will learn to wield the open source revolution. It is happening whether we want it or not, but there are some clear benefits to it, as students and experienced programmers will learn to contribute to software development with their learned skills and use that code with others' contributions for a greater product.

Either way, didn't you ever want to see how some of Java's classes were coded? I have taken a keen interest to some aspects such as the random number generator (which I find quite dismal in its effectiveness) and data structure classes.
