Have you ever heard of the Mono project? How about DotGNU? All these are forked open source versions of .Net. Hmmm, so how was Sun open sourcing Java a gain?
And whats with the IBM stuff? I don't see IBM getting back into the computer programming language business. Remember Smalltalk? IBM's primary business is consulting.
