Windows on the Mac
I believe that this news represents a huge potential boon for Apple. While the likes Dell and HP are hardly going to see their sales plummet as a result, lets not forget what happened when Apple made the iPOD and iTunes Windows compatible. The consumer frenzy surrounding the iPOD had more to do with Apple's market-leading hardware design than anything else.

There are a very large number of Windows users that currently suffer from serious Mac Mini, MacBook and iMac envy. There are significant numbers of Windows users that own an iPOD and have also craved an Apple-based PC or laptop. Until now they have been prevented from feeding that craving because of personal and/or corporate Windows compatibility requirements. Their prayers have just been answered.

I believe a significant number of PC consumers will now look seriously at a new Apple for that very reason. Some, with no real intent of ever booting up the Mac OS. Others will "play" with the Mac OS just for fun. This trend will put the Mac OS in the hands of consumers and executives that would otherwise never have experienced it. That phenomenon may very well change the PC landscape forever.

How ironic that it was Microsoft that used this very "Trojan horse" strategy to eventually break the backs of both Novell and Netscape. Very ironic indeed.
