Yes competition is important
The grip that arises about MS is they may make it on purpose so
other products don't play well with theirs. Competing with
features and benefits is as it should be but, competing by
cutting off anothers air supply is not a good for anyone.

Remember back in the DOS days there was a saying: DOS isn't
finished until Lotus won't work. Also remember how MS treated
DRDOS and Cp/M. I'm sure others will have other stories. MS
does create good products however, when they favor their own
products by screwing their competition that's never a good
thing.
