To grow, Borland to cut off its roots

Correct: Borland used to be about top-notch development tools at reasonable prices - an individual developer, even programming for his own fun (i.e. not selling products) could buy one without breaking the bank. Man... Suddenly this feels like it was a long time ago. Wait, it WAS a long time ago.
