An Office replacement?
Without a spreadsheet?
And after Apple has signed an agreement to renew Office for the Mac for 5 years?

Apple has shown that the company is willing to replace Microsoft products, as with IE and WMP. But here Office is part of Apple's strategy.

Maybe Apple has seen enough of Office 12 to know that missing out would be a terrible loss ( wink ).

I think your anti-Microsoft bias is making you a bit unrealistic.
