Excel is pretty old
I used Excel & Word in the late 80s on the original macs with a HD.
Both were fantastic apps, especially considering that Win 3.1 was
years away. I believe that the original Mac apps were basically test
beds for both Word & Excel, with the PC versions catching up over
time.
