Home user doesn't seem to be the focus
All Office suites have more than enough functionality for 99.9% of home users. This might be my own bias but I've noticed that most of the MS Office improvements for the last few versions have been focused around business integration with other enterprise type systems (like Sharepoint, SQL Server, web services, etc.). In this respect, the other Office suites are absolutely no competition to MS Office. So the revelation that iWork might be better for home users than Office really isn't any revelation at all. Of course extra competition in the home market will affect MS's bottom line but I'm curious to know how much of their Office sales are to home users and how much is to businesses. If, as I suspect, the vast majority of Office revenue is from business, iWork's offerings are not going to cause MS to "sweat bullets". About the only thing I could see happening is MS creating cheaper and cheaper home versions since creating new and "innovative" features for an already bloated product at an already bloated price is unlikely to be a winning strategy for the home.
