Opensource is often missunderstod
Well, it depends how they licens the product.

GPL only garanties that the software seller has to give customer the source to the software. And the customers can do what they like with it. But customers doesn't need to give changes back to the seller.

There are other companies that have that clause. Sun and Apple has that.
