Jeez.. 144MB that isn't bad
I agree that 144MBs isn't small, but if it is going to be used on laptops, with the majority of features from the full version (thus as good as office 12) for 144MBs that sounds rather good.

How much disk space does office 2003 take up? Plenty, i need to find that one out..

The full version of openoffice.org 2.0 actually physically only takes up 200MB. Really! it is not 300MB it is 200MB, I just added up the space that the directory openoffice 2.0 under 'Program Files' takes up. ( I just copied this folder from my desktop to my laptop and have been using it on my laptop ever since with no problems, thus all the space taken up by the install is in that directory).

That sounds good to me. I have a 80GB hard drive on my laptop, so space for a quality FREE Office equivalent is fine by me.
200MB for full version
144MB for portable version
why not go for the full version? It is not much space for a laptop.. carrying it on a USB drive wouldn't be a problem either, now would it?
