What are you complaining about?
First OSS folks whine about MS closed file formats and now that they are publishing the formats used by their files people like you still whine about MS.

Who cares if IBM or OpenOffice uses MS file formats? As long as they can be read by the other packages you have your migration path.

You should recognize your whining for what it is, it is not about open source vs MS. It's about religous belief that MS is evil.

Now that you can read the formats OSS is going to need to prove that it is better software than the closed source choices. No more excuses about file formats.
