This is what happens when the customer is not the #1 priority.

This is why I have problems with DRM. Because it places the company as #1 instead of the customer. When the needs of the customer and the needs of the business conflict, then stuff like this will happen.

All businesses have to learn: The customer is #1. Always. It doesn't matter if you can rationalize DRM. If DRM interferes with the customers' attempts to use their music, you will lose customers.
