- Seems to me that many a CEO that has had a hand in
-
the cookie jar at least claimed to be Christian take the owners of
Adelphia for example or many of the fallen of WorldCom and
Enron.
As for our youth...me I never went to church and have rejected
the call of Christianity and you won't find my name in the police
logs or my hands in the cookie jar. You won't find me beating
and draging a black man behind my truck nor beating and
leaving to die a young man on a fence on a cold winters night.
You also won't find me bombing abortion clincs and I think if
you do the research you'll find all these people went to church
and claim to be some form of christian. I never used drugs,
used alcohol sparingly and never smoked even the legal weed.
Heck even our so called christian president can't match me
there. So I think we can go back and forth on the benefits vs the
evils or organized faith and christianity in general. All I can say
is for every none christian evil you bring up...I can very easily
match you with a christian evil...perhaps with a little effort
match you two for one:)
I greatly admire those who can seperate their faith from the
search for knowledge...unfortunetly we do NOT have enough of
those sorts. Also some of the earlier scientists like Pasteur
probably found his studies did not in any fashion conflict with
his faith. After all finding bacteria that caused disease did not in
any fashion challenge the truths of the Bible or his faith. Todays
ultra right wing Christian parents often try and stear their home
schooled children away from science because they fear their
children might question their faith and there for be damned.
While I understand their fears....i worry about the general health
of our nation as more and more fine minds go to waist and the
rest of the world catches up and surpases us in the world of
science.
