I have gone on about a The Decline of America for some
time now.

I've spoken about the rise of other nations/economies such as
India and China.

I've gone on about the WalMart economy and it's tearing down
middle America in the process.

Still there is far more to my theory than any one event or cause.
There is arrogance and the resulting short sightedness. There is
the waist of our valuable resources and money in conflicts that
produce NOTHING for us but the loss of our valuable youth.

And yet there are even MORE factors.....R&D or the lack there for
of is still another. We have a strong faith based movement in
this nation and unfortunetly because those behind that
movement find a great deal of the sciences to be counter to their
beliefs/movement there is a growing lack of respect and even
hostility towards the sciences. Granted it is only in the begining
stages and there are still a great many scientest and projects
based on investments made years ago that are still coming into
their own...but that was then....the now is what concerns me and
the future. I think across the board we will find R&D investment
and investment in the sciences being reduced and re-directed.
There will be an embracing of false science that will put serious
road blocks to our nations progress.

I frankly do not think Egypt, or Rome fell do to anyone factor.
Nor do I think the threat to our nation will be as easy and any
single problem. However I think even the mightyest of nations
can be brought down by the sting of a thousand flee bites.
