Microsoft never will be there

I have nothing against Microsoft here. They can sure try to get into the large enterprise but I doubt they will do well.

The thing with big iron enterprise systems is people whole buy they like wasting money but they have to delude themselves into thinking they are paying extra for high quality.

It's kind of like cars. A car company can sell economy cars, even more expesensive cars but they never do well selling luxury cars, the true luxury cars. They do start side companies under different names to get away from the brand name of thier consumer cars.

This is what Microsoft will have to do to get into the game with the big iron.

Also is that really a game Microsoft wants in on? Sure $100 million contracts for servers is great but it's 1 time every 5 -10 years. It seems to me that making products to sell to average joe on yearly basis is more profitable. I'd guess this is why Microsoft spends only 1.5% in the big enterprise.
