One issue about sealing
I think one reason that sealing the documents presents is that if
any of the allegations are in fact true, it prevents programmers
from fixing Linux to be rid of those infringements.

If SCO was merely trying to protect its intellectual property, they
should be happy to see infringing code removed (and be
compensated for past inclusions). Because they're deliberately
keeping these alleged infringements secret, they can't be readily
addressed by the coding community, and will this remain in
Linux. This leads me to believe that their motivations are more
in line with stopping Linux use than with redressing past
wrongs.
