"You can't blame any undue influence by MS on the government for MS's attainment or maintenance of its monopoly."

Yeah, and you can't blame customs for allowing tons upon tons of illicit drugs and arms crossing America's borders, can you? Because unless they cracked down, they couldn't possibly be complicit in illegal drugs and arms smuggling, eh? Your naive simplistic hail mary "questioning" falls apart by simple common sense and honest observation of historical precedent.
Seems customs has lost to the drug/arms smugglers. Either that or the "war on drugs" was ALWAYS a sham, just like the "war on terror". wink
Cameras, IDs, sniffing dogs, sanctions, "wars against the drug fields", moles, technology, government lobbying, etc...and even after years and years there has been ZERO progress against illicit drugs. And that's because it is a HUGELY profitable business, for certain folk; just like the world sex trade, and the world arms market. And trust me, the people that make bread off the drug trade care about as little about morality and the "good of the people" as Pat Robertson or Saddam Hussein.
