Version inflation
I guess Sun doesn't believe in minor releases anymore (everything is x.0). If I remember rightly, the last pre-OOO version of StarOffice was 5.2 and the first based on OOO was 6.0 (based on OOO 1.0). The OOO 1.9 thread (destined to become OOO 2.0) is still in beta, so how does StarOffice get to 8.0? If Sun did what I think they did, SO 7.0 should have been 6.1 and the upcoming 8.0 release should be 7.0 (or 6.2, depending on how different it is from the existing OOO 1.1).

Such practices have the double disadvantage of being (a) dishonest and (b) ineffective (ie. they don't fool anyone).
