Anton, thank you so much for posting this! This is indeed exciting news! Getting rid of the registry architecture would make Windows far more resistant to cross-application conflicts and to malware. This is an obvious case of Microsoft doing the right thing and I salute them for daring to confront the problem. Back in the old days when hardware was limited, the registry was the ONLY approach that would produce a viable computer. Now days it is an obselete and long overdue to be eliminated. Replacing it with centrally maintained discreet configuration files would move Windows ahead lightyears. Good for MS! I wish them the very best as they attempt to cut through the compatibility issues and solve this problem!
