LOL...

This is obviously a touchy issue. Probably because the people who have them are paranoid about losing money and those who don't seem to get screwed over all the time.

On the plus side, if things get worse, Linux will be exterminated as a viable OS. This helps Microsoft a lot. This will hurt Novell, Apple, and any other company who thinks that taking the volunteer work of open source developers and packing it up for expensive distribution will mean big profits. SuSE alone has gone up quite a bit in price, and once these patent nightmares get worse they will either drop Linux or charge a LOT more for it per release. So much for easy money.
