This assumes that all Web projects start out large
My experience is that Web projects that start out
life with a well defined set of objectives,
business logic that can be
set-in-stone-compiled-and-forgotten-about, large
scale enterprise level support and a great big
budget, are rare.

Generally, the presentation layer and the
database layer are the two areas least liable to
suffer major change - and they *never* change
without major changes needing to be done within
all the stuff going on in between. Indeed, it's
the business logic layer where changes most often
occur. This is probably because I work in
business, and business does not need to be
logical, only profitable.

I do object oriented design, but I certainly
cannot treat my objects as "Black Boxes".

It also assumes (as does the article) that
languages like PHP are never used by enterprise
level programmers and are incapable of meeting
the particular needs of enterprise level
systems wink.
