Wow, maybe I can be an accountant too?
I'm surprised how little people really know about software development (non-developers that is). For some reason, companies think that anyone with Frontpage installed can build an enterprise application. This is akin to thinking I can manage the budget of a billion dollar company because I manage my home budget successfully. If accountants and business people want to jump in and develop software, go ahead. Just don't call me when you're 3 months late and need a "quick" fix.

Man, do I really dislike the way companies look only at the next quarter. Sure, you can get something "out the door" with scripting languages, but by the third iteration its so tainted and a mess that you have to start all over.
