Are you SURE that FoxBase was a Mac product first?

Seems to me that FoxBase was a clone of dBase made by Fox Software WAAAAY back in the 1980's.. It was an MS DOS tool (as was dBase by Ashton Tate). The roots of dBase go back to CP/M and mainframes prior to that.

Microsoft came into the picture in 1992 when they bought Fox out. And while there WAS a Mac version of FoxBase/FoxPro, Microsoft probably dropped it if the sales figures didn't justify support.
