And the other 1 out of 10,000 advanced users that might be interested in running external RAID's. Otherwise, this is useless technology due to the speed of current hard drives.

The last thing manufacturers want to have to support are typical users running external (or internal, for that matter) RAID setups.

RAID 0 introduces another fail point into the picture that the majority of PC users don't need.
