The important point!
The important point that every article keep missing is that they tout the
theoretical port speed of a drive and completely ignore the actual maximum speed
of the drive mechanism.

Today, 15,000 RPM server drives, the fastest available cannot transfer more than
85 MB per second which is slower than Firewire 800. Normal PC oriented drives
running at 7200 RPM or even the Raptors at 10,000 RPM don't even max a Firewire
400 connection. Unless one hooks multiple drives in a striped RAID arrangements
(which very few people do), there is no real advantage of these external drives
with eSATA over Firewire 800 drives.

When I clicked on the article, I thought somebody has designed a faster hard drive
that can actually transfer more than 80 MB per second.
