A computer as a thinking person???
While the goal is easily defined, implementing it is not. The problem I see with sorting and finding "important" information is that importance changes constantly.

If I am working on project "A" it is important at that moment so I set things up to bring me or allow important information to come to me. Using email as an example I might give priority to the vendors I am working with on project "A", maybe a few of the people within the company that are working on it with me, and maybe even the bosses I report to.

But, I get an email from a family member about some critical issue (say a death in the family) and what was important now takes a back seat. I rearrange things so family emails are now "important", but I can't simply drop project "A". To top it off the boss comes in and gives me another half dozen things that are in his mind all of critical importance.

The end result is I am back where I started with all these things trying to be critically important and it is still up to me to sort through it all to deal with the "important" issues with "important" changing on a moments notice.

It's a worthy goal Bill, but I think it's one that is at least 20 years in the future where we have computers with the rudiments of AI...
