You are misleading and do not understand the market
A. You wrote: "the slowly adopted XP". How many companies are running 95 or NT on their desktops? Less than 5% It was adopted far quicker than most OSs.
B. XP 64-bit will be put on corporate desktops as soon as they can have a configuration that works for them. They don't need every disk driver to work, they need one. They don't need every USB driver to work, they need one. They need to be able to run their standard applications without failure. They don't give a hoot about obscure game and graphics bugs because they don't want anyone running them anyway.
As the corporate IT goes, so goes the market and everyone else better catch up.
