I like this distinction.
If I were a business buyer and were given that choice, which type of software do you think I would pick?


You might also consider that Redhat is a real company and has to sell a product that's better than its competition. If they're the same as the competition, the choice will be made solely on price. That's not a good situation for a small company.

I suspect the real difference in perspective is not among business models. It's between those who have substantial concern for making companies successful enough to support employment, and those who do not consider jobs and salaries a primary issue.
