Interesting statistics
Red Hat slipped from 86 percent in 2003 to 72 percent from November 2003 to January 2005, while Novell gained from 21 percent to 33 percent over the same period.

In November 2003 Red Hat and SuSE/Novell had a commanding 86% + 21% = 107% of the sites that rely on Linux. Unfortunately their overall share declined to 72% + 33% = 105%. How disappointing happy

OK, I'm going to allow for the fact that perhaps there are some customers that have more than one version of Linux running but it is hard to imagine that a whole 7% of sites are running two versions of Linux before the multitude of other distributions are considered. What a maintenance nightmare. Does one person in an IT department fiddling with Linux constitute a usage or is there really an issue with companies not standardizing on one distribution for their organization.
