So far these
are nothing more than possibilities. That's what MS does..it throws out a ton of possibles and does the ones that people smile about. XP Pro does not require you to belong to a domain. SBE, if it is made, will probably come with MSDE and some flavor of exchange server and I'm sure some other stripped down security tools. Media Center should be a stand alone(and be fully dedicated to a Media Center) if that is all you want it for. Trying to compete with Apple on that, I guess?? Home and Pro will most likely be the same flavors you get now. If they do make some starter edition that is only the OS and absolutely nothing more, that will be very interesting to see the price. Couldn't be more than 40 or 50 bucks, IMO. If so, how much they plan on getting for the home edition this time around?
